Glory Mertz-Griffith is honored to be invited to the nation’s top college showcases, in top pools, and regularly competes in the premier national tournaments—PGF, USA/ASA, USA Elite Select. Since 2014, Coach Mertz’s teams have earned 3rd, 17th and 25th finishes at PGF Nationals in CA with .667 career winning percentage (13-7 in PGF Premier, 11-5 in PGF Platinum). Team highlights also include a 16U undefeated Atlanta Legacy Showcase, 18U Atlanta Legacy 5th place finish (super pool), a 16U Team NJ Summer Showcase Championship, a 6-2 finish at 18U IDT Louisville Slugger in CO, USA Elite Select East Coast 18U Championship, and 2nd place finish (of 44) at 16U USA Preps Best of the Best in Las Vegas.
To date, 100% of Glory Mertz-Griffith graduates have gone on to play softball in college.

JUL 2017 - Glory M-N Takes Two of Three Pool Games at PGF Premier
In three pool games at the 18U PGF Premier Championship in CA, the team earned wins over CA Explosion 8-0 and NW Batbusters 5-1. The loss came to San Jose Sting 2-1. In bracket play, the team dropped a no-hitter in International Tie Breaker to SoCal Pumas and a 1-0 2-hitter in the bottom of the 7th inning to Lady Lightning. Congrats to Kaitlin Beasley Polko on earning team MVP. The pitching staff (Polko, Avery Neuhart and Carlie Mertz) held opponents in check with a team ERA of 1.33 and .853 WHIP for the tournament. The offense was led by Ally Kurland.
JUL 2017 - USA Softball World Cup Update
Sandercock starts game one for USA Jr. National team vs Puerto Rico and goes 3 1/3 scoreless; throws one perfect inning vs USA team; allows just seven hits in complete game loss vs Japan, the #1 ranked team in the world

Kaitlin Beasely-Polko was named Washington Post All-Met Player of the Year; Raina Cooper and Kathryn Sandercock named to 1st Team.
JUN 2017 - Arizona Does It Again!
Junior shortstop, Arizona Ritchie, makes 1st Team All State (5A) for the second time following her freshman year honors.

NOV 2016 - Undefeated Fall Season
Congrats to Glory Premier M-N for going undefeated at Southern Force Fall Showcase in Watkinsville, GA and finishing their fall season 26-0-1 (0-0 tie vs DeMarini Aces). The team hit .400 for the fall with 26 HRs with a 1.099 On Base+Slugging%, a staff ERA of 1.90 with 185 Ks in 132 INN and committing just 0.63 errors per game. Highlights also included a USA Elite Select NE Championship and national berth. The team begins conditioning and practicing NOV 20th and will train through the end of FEB.
AUG 2016 - Glory-Mertz Finishes 16U PGF Premier Again as a Top NE Region team
Congrats on the TOP 25 finish at PGF Premier Nationals in CA!! Championship bracket wins came over TX Impact Gold and NorCal Firecrackers while dropping games to TN Fury 99 and OC Batbusters-Lastrapes. With ace, Kaitlin Beasley-Polko, out for nationals and much of the summer with a quad injury, Kathryn Sandercock stepped up with two big wins in the circle. The offense was paced by Victoria Figueroa (2018) who hit a blistering .526.
AUG 2015 - Glory-Mertz Finishes 3rd at PGF Platinum Nationals in Irvine, CA
Glory-Mertz 16s go 8-2 overall at PGF Nationals and finish as the highest finishing team in the East region for the second year in a row. Wins came over: SoCal Athletics, LA Marucci Patriots, Cal Grapettes, Texas Glory, Cal Crusiers, CA Valley Stompers, AZ Impact and KC Peppers. Dating back to last summer, the team's overall PGF Nationals record is 14-4 (6-0 in pool play). We are extremely proud and humbled to represent the Glory organization, the state of VA, and the growing success of softball in the East!!!
